Surah Ad-Duha

سُورَةُ الضُّحَىٰ

Surah Ad-Duha is the 93rd surah of the Quran. Its name means “The Morning Hours”. It is a meccan surah of 11 verses, opening in juz 30 on page 596 of the mushaf. Below is the full Arabic text in Uthmani script with an English translation for every verse.

سُورَةُ الضُّحَىٰ

Ad-Duha · Meccan · 11 ayahs

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

وَٱلضُّحَىٰ١ وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا سَجَىٰ٢ مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَمَا قَلَىٰ٣ وَلَلْءَاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌۭ لَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ٤ وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضَىٰٓ٥ أَلَمْ يَجِدْكَ يَتِيمًۭا فَـَٔاوَىٰ٦ وَوَجَدَكَ ضَآلًّۭا فَهَدَىٰ٧ وَوَجَدَكَ عَآئِلًۭا فَأَغْنَىٰ٨ فَأَمَّا ٱلْيَتِيمَ فَلَا تَقْهَرْ٩ وَأَمَّا ٱلسَّآئِلَ فَلَا تَنْهَرْ١٠ وَأَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ١١

Translation, verse by verse
  1. 93:1

    By the morning brightness

  2. 93:2

    And [by] the night when it covers with darkness,

  3. 93:3

    Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you].

  4. 93:4

    And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life].

  5. 93:5

    And your Lord is going to give you, and you will be satisfied.

  6. 93:6

    Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge?

  7. 93:7

    And He found you lost and guided [you],

  8. 93:8

    And He found you poor and made [you] self-sufficient.

  9. 93:9

    So as for the orphan, do not oppress [him].

  10. 93:10

    And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him].

  11. 93:11

    But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it].
