Surah At-Takathur

سُورَةُ التَّكَاثُرِ

Surah At-Takathur is the 102nd surah of the Quran. Its name means “Competition”. It is a meccan surah of 8 verses, opening in juz 30 on page 600 of the mushaf. Below is the full Arabic text in Uthmani script with an English translation for every verse.

سُورَةُ التَّكَاثُرِ

At-Takathur · Meccan · 8 ayahs

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

أَلْهَىٰكُمُ ٱلتَّكَاثُرُ١ حَتَّىٰ زُرْتُمُ ٱلْمَقَابِرَ٢ كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ٣ ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ٤ كَلَّا لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عِلْمَ ٱلْيَقِينِ٥ لَتَرَوُنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ٦ ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيْنَ ٱلْيَقِينِ٧ ثُمَّ لَتُسْـَٔلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ٨

  1. 102:1

    Competition in [worldly] increase diverts you

  2. 102:2

    Until you visit the graveyards.

  3. 102:3

    No! You are going to know.

  4. 102:4

    Then no! You are going to know.

  5. 102:5

    No! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty...

  6. 102:6

    You will surely see the Hellfire.

  7. 102:7

    Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty.

  8. 102:8

    Then you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure.
