Surah Al-Fil

سُورَةُ الفِيلِ

Surah Al-Fil is the 105th surah of the Quran. Its name means “The Elephant”. It is a meccan surah of 5 verses, opening in juz 30 on page 601 of the mushaf. Below is the full Arabic text in Uthmani script with an English translation for every verse.

سُورَةُ الفِيلِ

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْفِيلِ١ أَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِى تَضْلِيلٍۢ٢ وَأَرْسَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَيْرًا أَبَابِيلَ٣ تَرْمِيهِم بِحِجَارَةٍۢ مِّن سِجِّيلٍۢ٤ فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْفٍۢ مَّأْكُولٍۭ٥

Translation, verse by verse
  1. 105:1

    Have you not considered, [O Muhammad], how your Lord dealt with the companions of the elephant?

  2. 105:2

    Did He not make their plan into misguidance?

  3. 105:3

    And He sent against them birds in flocks,

  4. 105:4

    Striking them with stones of hard clay,

  5. 105:5

    And He made them like eaten straw.
